1st div travelled to Uki home of the Pythons on a wet and miserable Saturday afternoon coming away with an impressive 4-1 win
Uki had been unbeaten for the last month and stars were looking to consolidate there position at the top of the table continuing there push for promotion into the premier division.
With a few players out there was a couple of new faces in the line up and 2 emerging juniors sat on the bench in Reggie Sharp and Sean Muldoon backing up after already playing 90 minutes earlier that morning .
Stars made a solid start and controlled possession with Uki intent on sitting back hoping to hit us on the counter , this played into our hands with a few chances coming immediately from the kick off .
The pressure finally took it s toll on Uki with there keeper having an absolute barry crocker after hitting a cross into his own net after strong pressure from Beau Beddoes .
The boys continued their dominance with accurate passing tearing Uki to shreds .
It was 2 nil after a corner led to a belting finish from Beau Beddoes who was giving the pythons nightmares with his aggressive and direct play on the right wing , the pythons were having trouble getting out of their own half such was the dominance of stars up until halftime .
Trent Battistuzzi was hardly called upon to make any saves up until around the 50th minute mark when Uki came out in the second half with a more positive style of play .
Stars soaked up the pressure and Uki began to get easily frustrated after some cheeky niggle from our guys , this played into our hands and Beau Beddoes grabbed his second with a nice header after a cross from Nick Harris .
It was 4 with about 20 minutes remaining after a nice piece of work from Mr Harris on the byline , again a nice cross to Beau Beddoes who slotted a nice volley taking his first senior Hat-trick .
Uki scored a consolation goal after a mix up from Kyle Jenson at the back but it was a nice performance from all the boys .
Beau Beddoes starred but looked to pick up a major knee injury in the last few minutes which could be the end of his season unfortunately.
Jimmy Maguire and Rick Austin were solid at the back and Nick Harris also had a good game having 3 assists
Looking good fellas- Ocean Shores and Suffolk Park await next week in a tricky double header that will test some old legs
